Hi! Just ordered some swag from Jess, sent a contribution to you guys. Looking forward to picking it up when I visit England in June. I drive a '98 (Dec. '97 build) Z3 (yup, in Canada we too pronounce it Zed). VioletRot with Tan top and interior. 2.8 5spd. Bought it second-hand from Arizona (no rust) 9 years ago. Now has 140,000 miles. The pic. is from my Route 66 trip to California. Thanks for all the forum chat.

Thanks Robin, just received your donation!

Great introduction photo... That's the second Violet Red I've heard of now, the other belonging to @PeterJ in Hong Kong.

Welcome from St Georges. MB. Where in Canada are you? I'm 120km NE of Winnipeg and imported my Zed from the UK last year using nothing but my iPhone. It's a 97 Boston Green 1.9 manual with 76k mi. Have my second one being prepared for export right now, 98 Cosmo Black 1.9 manual with 106k mi. Enjoy the forum and any questions just throw them out and someone will come up with an answer for you! Good luck, JIM

Hi there @Z3UDM a lovely looking car in a scene I would love to experience. @FRANKIE and @miller1098 did see some of that when they drove Frankie's "new" ///M home to Egg Harbour Township from the west coast earlier this year, an awesome trip documented in video. Which part of England will you be visiting in June? I'm sure some members will be able to meet 'n' greet you if you would like .Welcome from me here near Lincoln.:)

Tony.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. To specifically respond to a couple of you: To "t-tony", I did 66 in reverse too, from Santa Monica to Chicago. I had driven west following the Pony Express Trail from St. Joseph MO to Sacramento CA, then to San Francisco and Hwy One to LA. The pic is just west of Barstow after leaving San Bernardino (so famously mispronounced by Sir Mick as "Saint"). I'll be visiting family in Hampshire and London this trip. To "oldcarman", yikes St. Georges! How many months driving do you get in a year? I'm in Toronto and I didn't have the car out after the end of November until early April.

Hi from Hong Kong and from a fellow member of the small circle of 'Violet Red' Z3 owners (mine is 1998 2.8 RHD with M52B28 prefacelift). I am also from Canada (Vancouver) but was taken away against my will as a 5 year old had to 'serve time' in the rain soaked UK until the grand old age of 31 when I just could not stand it any more and moved out to Hong Kong where I have lived for the last 23 years. My love of roadsters started with a Triumph Spitfire when I lived in 'Ole Bighty' and have owned my Z3 for 5 years now and have rebuilt and enhanced (OK, unshamadly paid someone else to do the work to my design) it to my own classic design

Sorry for the long gap in updating. Tech problems with my 2008 MacBook. Too bad it doesn't run as well as my Z3! Picked up my swag on the UK visit. The polo, hoodie and cap are perfect. Thank you Jess. There was a thread about the cap that I can't find regarding it staying on. I ordered the original 5 panel cap and I have road tested it up to 80mph with top and windows down. I also sit "tall in the saddle" with the top of my head above the top of the windscreen. I can confirm that the cap stays in place. I'll try and get a pic taken by someone riding shot gun.

The only time I lost a baseball cap driving was when I tried to put on on while moving. It got caught in the wind and hit an Audi behind me...

Likewise looking forwards to some pictures!
