Hello

Some of you might be aware of M539 YouTube channel by a fellow called Sreten. He his a BMW enthusiast and one particular video posted recently caught my attention.

Using an X3/ S58 intake manifold, a supercharger and some custom bits has managed to get 430BHP out of his e39 M54 wagon.

430bhp Zs anyone?

Making power with turbo / supercharging is never that difficult..just throw enough air and fuel in and voila…

You can get N54s upto over 1,000 BHP..how long they last..

I see most of the supercharger boys suggest 7 or 8 psi limits for the M54..without seeing what other mods it’s difficult to argue either way..

Keeping a boosted engine working reliably for long mileages is the issue..

Not to poo poo anyone who wants to play with their cars..so go for it..👍

The trick here is this looks to be a reliable 430 with stock internals.

The S58 intake has its own intercooler bringing temps down to make this a particularly nice setup.

430 is doable on a stock engine but probably up there especailly for a supercharger. A supercharger takes a bit of HP just to run it so the engine will actually be producing above the 430 mark.

My 2.8tu was turboed and made 425 on pump fuel and ran fine. Only work I did to the engine was a decompression plate in the head gasket and studs. I am now running a built 3.0 and making 550hp. But this took a whole lot more work.
