Last year we just booked the tunnel and just went where we felt like every day .we had w plan to see the Eiger in Switzerland and drive the Grand St. Bernard pass ,swis/Italian border and le petite St. Bernard Italy/France and a lot of cols that we had seen on the tour of France ,they were great but you've got to like corners and spectacular views

If i only had a week then i would go to the Alps via the Grand Ballon near Mulhouse, stay at Mulhouse and visit the schlumpf museum. http://citedelautomobile.com/en/home then i would do the Triangle of the Sustenpasse and the Furka Pass visit the Eiger Mountain at Grindlewald, if you have time. Go upto Chur down to St Moritz then return home
It will take around 4 to 5hrs to get to either the ferry port or the Tunnel so i would make reims my first stopover.
Then Drive to Mulhouse the next day taking in the Grand Ballon which is a must do route if you are going to the Alps. this will take Approx 5 hrs no stops should give time for a coffee stop on the way
Then i would take the route to the sustenpasse and Grimsel passe and stay at oberwald Approx 5hrs 15mins
I would then leave Oberwald along the Furka passe through Andermatt upto Chur down the Julierpasse through St Moritz and back upto Zernez Approx 5hrs 15mins then just plan a route back home
Hope it gives you some ideas

Yes, several times. Then head east and take the route over the alps into northern Italy. I'll need to find my maps to get you route. Or you can keep going east through Bavaria into Austria to Lichtenstein back through Switzerland into Belgium, France or Holland, Luxembourg in whatever order. You can't go wrong no matter!! JIM
