Sudden clutch failure

Hi all,
I have a 1997 Z3 2.8. Car running perfectly until a couple of days ago. Problem I have is that this morning I jumped in, put my foot on the clutch and there was no resistance whatsoever. Pedal hit the floor and didn't return, I had to hook it up with my toe to get it to return.
Fluid reservoir is full so I suspect seals have failed in master/slave cylinders. Tried contacting local mobile mechanics, I'm in Maidstone Kent, but they either don't return calls or can't come out for 2/3 weeks. Car is, therefore, sitting on the drive.

I used to do my own maintenance on my old bangers when I was younger but am hesitant to start pulling the Z3 apart.

Anyone have any recommendations?
 
Another possibility is the pushrod has worn through the release fork. How high is the mileage?

This is what happened to me. I did have a bit of warning as the pin forced its way further into the clevis.

BTW, it's the master cylinder that I am talking about.

The modified master cylinders have a shoulder on the pin, rather than just using an interference fit.

Well at that mileage if it were me I would get the master and slave cylinders replaced. Doing the slave will either confirm the pushrod has gone through the release arm, or not. A new clutch assy. is the likely next step at that miles. A mobile mechanic is not likely to want to take on a job like that on someone's drive.

i think he still has a recovery truck.
