Hi there, I’m in a Z3 roadster facelift widebody. I’m after some 17” style 32 alloys - the 8j 20 et fronts and 9j 26 et rears - off an E39 5 series.

Is anyone running these on stock suspension and if so what tyre sizes are the best fit?

Rear I think will be fine with 255/40 maybe and front 215/45 ?

Anyone with any experience for the above please?

Thanks

This post reminds me of my set that I bought probably 7yrs ago and still never got round to finishing.

I put on some 235/40 and 235/45 tyres I had from another rim experiment (don’t ask, I like old/rare rims and was experimenting with higher profiles for that ‘meaty’ look - I’ve grown tired of the rubber band profiles not helped by the roads in Kent:bag:)

Plan is to do then in shadow chrome.

The fitment is pretty aggressive up front - I run more camber now so they would tuck in better but even with a 235 up front it’s just inside.

plenty of room at the rear and I think I was even running the 20mm spacer in these pics. I’ve only ever tested fitted them but just love them - great dish front and rare which looks deeper in the flesh on gye 17in ones
18’s are nice too but the 17’s seem scarcer.

Wow, so even with 235 the front fit and standard springs (not coil overs)? And to be clear you had 235/40 front and 235/45 rear
I’ve been told to try
215/45/17 front (215 to ensure no rub)
255/40/17 rear (no spacers)
rolling radius at this combination seems to be ok (see attached)
