I bought a strut brace from a company in Wakefield called love drifting. It arrived today I’ve only had a quick offer up but I think it’s going to be a mile out. All the holes are right to fit on top of strut top’s but to get both side’s on together with the brace bar in can’t see it going. It would be like trying to string a mega big bow if you get my drift could be going back.
Has any one else bought from these people and if so did it fit ok.

i have a strut brace here i am about to put on my 1.9, and it looks like the coil pack needs to be lowered to allow it to fit this means grinding of the studs holding on the coil pack and putting some long bolts there to mount the coil pack underneath the bracket that the coil pack fits... as for mounting holes would have thought they should fit on top of the struts ok...

I’ve not had a good look at mine but I’m pretty certain that the coil pack is well in front of it. The thing I did notice was the earth point for when you connect jump leads.
Will take a picture tomorrow and post on here if it’s a success but I think mine will be going back. Did you get yours fro same place as I did.

Not sure what I did to that but my reply went strangely weird. Any way that strut brace may be a problem to fit on the 1.9 as I think the throttle body top will be in way. The 1.9 brace goes up and around rear of engine.

Shame. Mine dose not fit either I’ve tried all sorts and I’ve even phoned up where I bought it from and spoken to them. The problem for me is it’s so close yet so far. I didn’t really have time to study it but the bonnet will not quite close. Will have another look tomorrow weather permitting. What annoyed me is the guy on end of phone said this is why we like to fit them ourselves. And as I told him it’s not Bleedin rocket science. Waiting on a phone call from them.

I bought one on eBay for the 2.8 and it was a perfect fit. Shouldn't need any adjustments really

I bought mine from love drifting in wakefield. Trouble for me now is I chipped the plastic coating on the end of barce bar so cant return it he say,s. So I'm going to see what I can do after I've had a think. They will get a bad feed back from me thats for sure.

Hope you can sort it mate. I had to modify the one I bought for my Z3 before it would fit and allow the bonnet to close.

Some pictures, I had anther go today and there is no way I can get that brace to fit. Infact I’m now cheesed right off to put it mildly because takining plate off near side top of strut I stripped the thread on 2 of the studs. So I’m now going to have to take wheel off and possibly remove strut to replace the bolts Grrrrrrrr.
I put French chalk on top of the bar and gently closed bonnet down until it touched you can see the white mark just on under side of bonnet also you can see how high it is above the scuttle behind it.

Same issue I had. I refilled the strut top brackets lower down and screwed the adjusters out of the cross piece. Finally cut the spare metal off the top off the strut brackets. A fair bit of fannying around but at least I made it fit.
