OK, we all like to drive our cars quick where conditions allow and some of us take to the race circuits to fulfil the need for speed, but did you ever think about the stresses and strains we put our cars through when pushing them really hard. I saw this earlier and thought it might interest anyone who is interested in what forces are applied to cars and all it's parts during hard cornering. Yes much more than a road car but you get the general idea. A great photograph too I reckon.

Fantastic photography, that car looks twisted.

I can see in my Z3 that some parts wear more quickly and I only do 5-6 track days in a year, I keep a pretty good eye on things so all is good but drop links etc. They do take a battering.
I have some great pics from Darren Teagles where you can see the tyres flexing on the rim.

It amazes me some of the driving we do whilst on our meets, I feel that the car really gets punished, what is even more shocking is that the line up of cars are mostly over 100,000 miles and some over 150,000, just go's to show how well built they are.

When F1 chav up their cars so low it scrapes and sparks they get lots of love.

But when an MX5 driver does it.....!!!

Tony.
And like 100% of drivers outside the professionals talent would run out long before the car and would end up in a ball of flames in a ditch. Apart from the C-in-C on the school run that is!:arghh::wideyed::arghh::woot::nailbiting:
