Weird one this noise seems to be coming from the arches, had wheels off nothing catching and no noise when you spin the wheels?
Can only hear it when passing something solid like a building. bridge or dense hedging.
Its as though the noise is an echo that only bounces of something solid
Only thought, probably daft could it be the wheel spacers moving the wheels out a bit and causing some sought of sonic echo? as i say probably daft but can not think of anything else.
Thought i would ask for suggestions before taking the spacers off

Could simply be the lack of tread on the rear tyres mate? Unless you’re sure it’s coming from the fronts.

Tony.

Not sure could be rears, it could be doing the same on the off side but not close enough to here the echo. New rears next week so will see if it makes a difference, tyres not yet slicks only up to the indicator rubbers.

Paul - could I suggest for safety reasons you jack the car up and rock the wheels back and forth checking for play similar to checking for worn wheel bearing.

I had a similar experience with my rear wheels and spacers and found that my wheel bolts were not properly seated.

I heard a high pitched whine noise.

Hope this makes sense.

David.

Thanks David, all OK with the wheels checked the Wheel bearings and that the wheels were secure, also double checked i hadn't mixed the studs up front to rear as i have done previous. Its just strange that you only here the noise when passing something solid
