I'm just about to treat Rosie to one of these, but can't decide which will look best with the brushed alloy centre console, and blue gaitors.

I'm thinking the Titanium would look too dark, but not sure how close the contrast on the 'Brushed' finish would be. Anyone fitted on with the alloy console that can post some piccies? None of the pictures on the site have this combination.

Also I'm not sure what engraving to have as neither styles look that nice. May go without any I suppose.

This is the style I went with Gary, like you I thought long and hard about which style to go with. Since the photo was taken I have added the cigarette lighter plug which looks really good.

That looks like the brushed version rather than the titanium, and has probably just made my mind up :D. Cant see any engraving on it either, but still not sure.

I always have some charger or satnav or both plugged in to the ciggy lighter...

I started this thread just over 11 months ago, and have finally just got around to ordering one - brushed Stainless Steel - engraved with 5 speed with shift lines.

My standard BMW issue illuminated knob broke a few days back, and won't stay on the shaft. The internal plastic sleeve has disintegrated so has no grip in it and made quick gear changes interesting. The cables for the illumination were broken when I got the car, and it's had just over 100k miles of caressing so it's time to go...

Ciggy lighter plug would look good too Gary.
It's on the list, but I tend to have something plugged in the cig lighter socket most of the time though.

I've got the brushed one and cigarette lighter plug, well worth the money. The knob feels good while changing [emoji6]

worth ordering the handbrake handle to match the gear knob. I preferred the Titanium (with 5 gear shift pattern) as my Z3 has quite a few chrome touches on already & thought the chrome knob may be a bit too much... The knob & handbrake handle are great, but the knob can get a little warm in the sun (not that that should be an issue in the UK) (& presumably cold in the UK Winter)... it's still OK though with bare hands, but a good justification if someone asks why you are wearing driving gloves! The weighted knob is great as I have the UUC Short Shifter & UCC DSSR. They look & feel wonderful & the Titanium matches my Charcoal Grey Leather trim nicely

I think I will get the matching hand brake handle when I can afford to. The knob is essential, whereas the handle still works and doesn't fall off. Yet!

I had the chrome effect OEM knob in my old zed, and that thing was bloody lethal after it was in direct sunlight. I may see if my mum can knit me a knob cover to keep the direct sunlight off it, and stop me burning the palm of my hand :nurse:

haha!, mine is fine out here ...just gets 'warm' rather than hot.., but I never leave it parked in the sun without a cockpit or full car cover on. Maybe you can get a leather knob cover that ties around the neck to keep it on... as seen in some (very) older cars ... a bit kinky perhaps, but should look & feel good

Finally arrived after what seems like ages, ran straight outside to fit it and a quick drive around the town for testing! It's odd to think that a gear knob can have such a positive effect on the gear change, but it really does!

Lots more pictures here - http://zroadster.org/media/albums/storm-motorwerks-v1-gear-knob.29/

Very much. Don't need to drive anywhere at the moment and it's raining. Bloody typical!
