I've bought myself the storm motorwerks handbrake to go with my gear knob I already have. As others have said if you have a chrome handbrake button it will need sanding for the new one to fit over the top. Apart from that it was relatively straightforward to fit.
I should have bought one when I bought the gear knob three years ago.

Have both these fitted to mine and love them. Putting some billet stainless steel parts on the common touch points really makes the car feel more premium.

So I will have to sand down mine?

If I want to remove it at anytime can you buy them separately as guess once sanded it won't be able to be put back

Could also probably get a standard black one somewhere, or just order a spare chrome one.

Call your local BMW dealer, ask for parts and ask to order one, see how much they cost.

I had to sand my chrome coloured one down. I used a cordless drill with a sanding disc attached as it was taking ages by hand. You don't remove the old one just slip the new one over and tighten the tiny Allen screw. You will need a small cable tie to fix the gaiter to the handbrake.
If you want to take it of in the future you will have a scuffy looking handbrake button. Could possibly paint it or buy a replacement. I'm not sure if they are easy to fit

Think I will look to get a second hand black one and use that and keep chrome one.

Worth asking BMW as often parts like that aren’t expensive at all. And you could get a brand new chrome one for if/when the time comes to refit standard.
