Not quite Z related but relevant for Z's given many don't get used regularly.
Need a new battery for the family bus, a 2.5t Ford Smax and Tanya batteries showed this stop start battery:
'Varta Start-Stop with EFB Technology
VARTA Start-Stop batteries with EFB technology are perfect for vehicles with a standard, entry- level Start-Stop function. When the engine is switched off, they provide the vehicle's electrical devices system with a reliable power supply and ensure that the engine restarts in a fraction of a second. Furthermore, they boast twice as much cyclic stability as conventional batteries and can be more discharged without any loss of functionality.'

In the Z I replaced the OEM battery with a big VARTA silver battery and that has been flattened a couple time with interior light on etc but it's been great. Did the same for the Galaxy it was great. (The Z OEM battery still lives by the way and does duty in a Honda CRV that only does short journeys-these OEM ones seem to live forever. The one in the Smax is original Ford too at 11yrs old now but I left the lights on and discharged a lot so donwt want to risk it not holding charge anymore - the breakdown man tested the battery and it said 'replace' after he jumped me)
This stop start battery seems to offer advantages with no obvious downside? Unless they are not suitable for a regular car?
I've sent an email to VARTA to ask if it's ok in a regular and can these batteries be chargers as normal if you run them down.
Just wondering if anyone on here knows about them?
