A while ago there was a discussion about a company who rebuild, redesigned, restitched steering wheels.

I can't find that thread any more.

I was wondering. Would it be possible to take a Z3 steering wheel and, kind of, 'retro' the look and feel. Maybe wood rim with metal spokes or something - but keeping the airbag?

Is such a thing even possible?

BMW produced an optional wood rim steering wheel with the airbag for these and e36’s. The pop up on eBay occasionally

Oh. Z8 wheel looks, kind of, retro.

Is it possible to replace a Z3 wheel with one from a Z8 and still have the bag work?
