The three screws hold the split ring to the back of the steering wheel. There is a plug on the other end of the flat "tape" cable that you need to release from the steering column.
What it important is tbat you secure the slip ring from turning from the position where you removed it from the steering wheel. Secure it with some tape to stop the "clockspring" from unravelling. If it has you'll need to buy another, if not it should be ok.
Yes you will but it still doesn't want to turn. It needs to go back on in the same position that it comes off. One part is fastened to the wheel but the inner is anchored onto th steering column.
I agree Tony but I’m trying to remove the steering wheel so I can get it recovered, but this “clockspring” is stopping the wheel being free.
I’m not trying to put it back together..... yet.
