I've put mine somewhere safe and now can't find it while it was at Royal Steering Wheels
I thought I need a new one but my replacement steering wheel does the same so it can't be that.
How come then Steve

Well my new wheel arrived as you all know on a Tuesday but due to working late and crap weather I didn't get round to fitting it until Thursday after work.
Got the slip ring swapped over onto the new wheel no problem, but as I slipped the new one on to the splines not realising you have to line up the slip ring which has a slot in it to line up with a little white peg which I think is the self cancel thing for the indicators as it turned out. Big black clouds coming in fast and it starts to rain so in my impatient haste to finish the job and get the outdoor cover back on the car I got it all bolted back together, connected the battery up again, turned on the ignition and no warning lights so all good......at that point :).
Saturday morning .......take off the outdoor cover, get in,start the car,all fine :)
As I'm about to pull out the drive to go to @t-tony's,put some left lock on......it won't turn much,as I'm halfway onto the road with cars coming I force the wheel to turn......felt something snap, air bag light comes on :nailbiting:.
Carry on to Tony's to fit the DRL's as arranged.

Tonight after work tried the air bag reset gadget, light won't stay off .
So disconnected the battery, took the steering wheel off and found this

The tape with the copper strips inside had ripped out of the connector block, can't fix this so need a replacement slip ring:arghh:.

See @Grumpy it's not just you mate..
Doing the Welsh cruise on Sunday and then me and Sara are going to Hugh and Sarah's the next day for a midweek break,so I would like to fix it before then if I can.
Edit : Obviously I didn't line up the slip ring properly on refitting.

It won't Steve it's just my own ignorance and impatience mate.
If your new one is fitted and you've drove the car it would have happened if it was fitted wrong like mine ;).

Mate don't beat your self up at least you had ago.
If I can get my steering wheel swapped over you could use my spare steering wheel.
I'll have to ask to brother to do it tomorrow night.

Mate I've spent ages looking for the slip ring off my recovered steering wheel but can't find it. Which is winding me up.
