Hi guys,
I've recently purchased a Z3 with a low mileage and have done obd reads and even have the airbag / abs reader which shows no faults or failures, but have noticed the steering wheel centre where the airbag goes flexes quite a lot. Is this normal for the Z3 or is there a likelihood that the airbag has been removed or used and only the cover would be there? I'm not keen on opening it up, but all my previous cars have had a very sturdy airbag cover, but I've never owned a 2000 year car.
Thanks!

If the airbag was removed it will have set a code, if you want to check its in there just disconnect the battery, wait 20mins then take the cover off and see what's in there it won't go bang with the battery disconnected.
