Good afternoon again everyone!

I love my Z3, but I do not love dash lights haha trying to figure out where to start on the pictured codes. Just received my cable and have INPA loaded onto the laptop. Pulled these codes with my Foxwell NT710 and the 20pin connector. My steering wheel is cocked slightky tonthe left, say at 11:30 or so FYI.

Here are my thoughts:

1: Check the steering angle sensor with INPA to see if it is reading.

2: Check wheel speed sensors with INPA to see if they are reading

3: If both are reading, have steering wheel reset to 12 o'clock with a euro car shop. Reset steering angle sensor (SAS) hope for the best

4: If a wheel speed sensor is out, replace, reset, hope for the best

5: if steering angle sensor isnt reading at all, unplug, clean plug, plug in, hopes and prayers

6: test SAS plug voltages (if there is one) and ensure it is getting power

7: replace SAS (ugh, I hope not) and reset, cross fingers and burn some sage.

Anyone else have any suggestions? Please and thanks!

Ok, update. Couldn't get INPA to connect to my laptop yet. Used my NT710, looked live at the steering angle and since the steering wheel is cocked a bit, i see about 540 in one direction and 515 in the other, I do get back to zero. All 4 speed sensors read 0 mph when still, not sure how to test this without a longer cord maybe?

I reset the codes, and the B6 and 73 codes are the only ones coming back right now. I did do a steering angle sensor recalibrate/reset with the tool.

Any ideas where to start?

It sounds like a tracking problem.

I'd start by getting the car checked for tracking alignment, confirm that nothing is bent, confirm the steering rack is secure, and that there is no play in the steering.

Only after that is done, and the wheel is straight would I worry about the steering angle sensor. INPA does have has a reset in E46 (I used it on my E46), but I'll be honest and say that I didn't think the Z3 had a steering sensor, but perhaps the later ones (those with DSC instead of ASC) do. If so, I'd expect there to be a reset for the E36 as well.

Thank you. Ok, ill bring it to the shop and have them check it all out. Just replaced the struts and shocks (the lights were on before this) and probably need an alignment anyways. The steering wheel is definitely cocked slightly left, nothing is visually bent, steering column is secure, rack is secure, but ill have them check it out and realign to make the steering wheel at the 12 o'clock. I could see the value in my scanner, so I believe the sensor is reading fine, which leads me to maybe an issue at the DSC module (if there is one?). Yes, sorry, this is a 2000 Z3 2.3 and has DSC.

Ok went and measured the rack, SAS, and tie rods and here are the results:

SAS readings with wheels straight, steering wheel @ 0 deg reading but 1130 position:
Turn right to lock -535 deg
Turn left to lock 515 deg

Rack:
This is with steering wheel straight up and down, reading -6 deg.
From flange at edge of boot to flange at outboard side of boot, both measured 6.5"

Number of threads on tie rod:
Driver side : 9 threads on bottom
Passenger side : 10 threads on bottom.

From this it seems like maybe the steering wheel was removed and installed at one point? Going to have an alignment done and see the results
