Hi guys I am new to here. Some advice needed.
I have a z3 2.2 2002,.Have a problem for while getting started. Not used much last few years but always started perfectly before. When cranking up it starts then dies. I had a guy spend ages on it taking out all plugs etc and putting new ones in. Eventually he went in boot and checked a fuse by the battery, the housing was a little dry so he squirted something in and all of a sudden it started. What is that fuse for?
Since then it still has issue starting, again cranking up starting then dying. I tried changing that fuse in boot thinking it could be that but still no joy. Has anyone got any ideas. Cheers

You really need to scan for codes, a reader is worth it's wieght in gold. and will save money and grief...Even if the reader reports nothing, unlikely as that may be. It will illiminate all of the things it isn't.
I use a foxwell, a little pricey but it does a lot of things, I know if my ashtray is full, and graphically shown how heavy my right foot is... But the members here can help with much cheaper alternatives that can do the job, as low as $30.00 apparently. So it pays for itself the first time you use it...;)

And of course, welcome...

Disconnect the MAF sensor and try again. The engine should run using its standard map.

As said above, you need to scan it for the error code(s). You dont say where you are but you may be near a forum member who may be willing to help.

And :welcome: to the forum from me in Stafford.

Hi guys sorry delay with update. As recommended we disconnected the MAF sensor and hey presto the car started. I ordered a new one and fitted it on Monday. I went out in the car that evening as been a while and what a beautiful ride it was. Was missed. These cars are such an amazing drive.
again many thanks for help.
