And... it started. I have no idea what I am doing but I am certainly enjoying it. The overhaul includes new standard suspension all round, front and rear braces, rust treatment for the sills and new sill covers plus a general clean-up underneath.
Never done this before so it involves a lot of trial and error. Took the front suspension off ( started with the most difficult bits) and discovered that I can't actually put it back together and in the process really scratched the new spring with the spring compressors (so repainted it). The old dampers and springs were not too bad but the corrosion of the springs was an advisory on the last MOT.
Cleaned up one of the front wheel arches. You don't realise how much stuff was on there until you see the other side.
Next: Get a garage to put the front suspension back for me , waxoyl on wheel arches, treat the sills, repaint and protect, get the sill covers painted ...
I really miss not being able to use the car but hoping it will be a lot nicer to drive when finished and ready for another 10 years of zedding underneath.
