Hello chaps,

I have come across this spring. Please see the pictures. One is taken at distance and the other is a close up. The soft top was half way up when I took the pictures.

The spring does not appear to be connected to anything. There is one in exactly the same place on the other side. Also not connected to anything.

Any idea what they should be connected to? Do they do anything?

Cheers.

Andy.

Think these are connected to a roof liner if fitted.

Okay. That's a good start. Does anyone have any images showing where the spring connects to the roof liner?

Pretty sure they connect to a wire that keeps the liner tight when it is folded. I can check on mine at weekend as i dry store mine over winter. Some other members may have puctures.

If you’re going to use fishing line use braid not monofilament nylon line.

Tony.

Thanks for all the help with this guys. If someone could post an image showing where the spring fastens to the hood then that would be great. :)

Hi bombur. Thanks for this. I will attempt a fix at the weekend and report back. This is a bloody brilliant forum :)
