Ok, I've put off a bunch of simple jobs due to weather but now...
1/ my drivers door handle has stopped working. I open the passengers door, turn on ignition, lower window (i love the window switch on the console), reach through and open door. Inside latch works but not outside. I see 2 small covers in the door sills adjacent to the outside handle. I'm going to look inside with a scope but worst case how hard is it to expose the latch mech from the inside?
2/ door and trunk seals. Any recommendations for brands of sealant? The rubber doesn't look bad or oxidized but leaks. I don't want to start any rust spots. I keep big tubs of dampex to try and control moisture but the moisture is winning.
3/ 97 1.9 4cyl. 31k miles. Running rough but no codes, replaced plugs, all looked good. Wires next then coil. Anything else to concentrate on?

Thank you all.

You can find quite a few videos online about removing the door handle to change the gasket. A few years ago my drivers door was difficult to open. I found the outside handle has a small arm that pushes on the inside mechanism. This wasnt pushing enough for whatever reason. I ended up just gluing a small bit of rubber to it so it pressed on the mechanism better. Not sure if it had something original or not that wore away over the years but its been fine since.

Thank you all.
#3: Your on-board diagnostics are only designed to detect issues that result in tailpipe emissions exceeding 1.5x the test standard.
I would have expected prolonged rough running to show up as misfire codes. Along with your ignition investigations, it would be worth checking for fuel delivery and fuel quality issues.
Beyond this, you’d most likely be looking at more traditional engine tests, like compression tests and borescope inspections. Hopefully at 31k miles the problem won’t be that drastic. Good luck.
