hi guys , bought second hand seats for my z3 cobra , seats are fitted in and passenger seat is working , but drivers seat has power but does not move at all , any one have any ideas before I strip it all down and start changing parts and motors

Are the fuses good the passenger seat is fused seperate to the drivers.
I would check for voltage on the wiring if all is good it may be a switch issue sometimes if the seats sit they bind up abit and need to be freed up.

I have power to seat , so I take it fuse is good , so poss switch or James motors

I have power to seat , so I take it fuse is good , so poss switch or James motors
There are two fuses per seat from what i can see if you have a 12volt supply you could apply direct to the motors and see if you get action it will prove the motors at least.

Get a mutimeter onto the 2 wires to the motor activate the switch see if you got power if so motor the problem if not you need to check power to switch next.

Would that be easier out of the car or in the car

I managed to check my nearside front/rear motor in place got power to the motor multiplug so my motor knackered not sure about up / down motor wiring access

Ok cool will prob take out again and test every thing
