Sport or not?

Ok, I have always believed that my zed had the sports package from the paperwork supplied by a BMW dealer. However, it doesn't have the cross spoke wheels, or the clear rear brake light. It does have the heated sports seats though.

I've put the VIN through the online doofer this morning and no specific sports pack was mentioned. So is it or not?

Only interested in clarity really.

The VIN decoder when I run my 2.2i Sport through doesn't actually say "Sport" anywhere either, but does list it as an "Individual". If you look at the options there are some descriptions which are useful, but some will be options that can be fitted to non-Sport models anyway...

Mine does have all the bits you expect on the factory Sport model (like the Style 78 alloys, M Sport suspension, Sport seats and so on).

Biggest indicator for me though would be the V5 Log Book, but I've seen random stuff shown on these too.

I'll have a looky when I get home then. I thought ze Germans would be more efficient in their coding...

I know mine is an individual model too, but I thought that meant there were options added and not just a stock Z3.

The "Individual" program was a catalogue of extras from different seats, to exterior paint colours. You may have well have individual items on your car, meaning extras were spec'd from the dealer catalog on purchase.

Results from VIN decoder. Will have a look at the V5C when I get home.
Funny how "Provisions for BMW 6 CD Changer" probably means it was fitted with one (as mine is).

The "Individual" options section is limited to the hood in Dark Blue. I assume the other options do not come under the Individual programme and only as Optional Extras.

Looks like it's not a sport after all.
I'm not disappointed, honest!

The V5C only says 'Z3 Sport Roadster Edition', no mention of 'Individual'.

The V5 will only list basic vehicle information and that is mostly supplied by the selling dealer at new. The different departments can't even agree on the same info for the same items ie. on the M.O.T. login it asks for the number of seat , excluding the driver yet on the V5 it has Number of seats, including the driver. Most cars, at first test you have to delete 5 and put in 4 for number of seats. Most of the info that populates the V5 is sent by the dealer and if the sales person can't be arsed often it's incomplete or just plain wrong.

Tony.
