Hi, can anyone help?
My car has developed a problem in that nothing happens when I turn the ignition key. It just spins but does nothing, The steering lock is not engaged, and I can start the car with a lash up connection to the solenoid and stop it by pulling out the fuse for the fuel pump. I have bought a replacement barrel and seen a demo on YouTube where a guy in the states can remove a barrel with his girlfriends hair clip in a couple of minutes with a flick of his wrist. But it is not easy!. Asked a BMW garage if they would fit it and reluctantly they said it would take about three hours at 120 quid plus vat per hour. So, has anybody else had this problem and how did they resolve it and do they know anybody around Herts or Hants that could help?
