Hi all,
Need to replace the bulbs on my dash (98 2.8).

What are the best bulbs for me to get (any suggested upgrades) and is it worth while for me to replace them all?

If rather have what I need first before taking the dash out!

Thanks

In this situation, I’d just ask my local BMW dealer tbh. You’ll be sure to get the right parts and they’re normally reasonably priced for this sort of thing.

I would replace them all. If one bulb has gone, the others wouldn’t be far behind.?

I bought a box of .4W 501 style bulbs for my Z3 from Andrew Page. Much less expensive than BMW. In fact I think I still have some left if you want them? I'll check in the morning.

Thanks everyone. Its easier to source them locally myself (I'm based in Ireland) but thank you very much for the offer. I might just order a box of them and replace them all and see how I get on. Two are fine and another two seem to randomly stop and then work again (which suggests could just be sitting lose in the adaptors). I might just bite the bullet and take the dash out when I know I won't be driving it for a while!

Removing the binnacle is easy enough, I did a "How to" with pictures some years ago on here.
