IIRC some of the German Autobahns do now have limits. I suppose they will work off satellites the same as Sat nags do?

A lot of Autobahn sections do have speed limits, some permanent, some time-bound and some variable (like our so called SMART motorways) - they have had all these for at least the past 35+ years since I've been driving there on a regular basis. As far as I recall, the Euro-limiter will work from sign recognition camera on the car.

I thought they were planning on introducing a speed limit on all sections of the autobahn, just differing limits ?

IIRC the speed limiters will only be fitted to new developed models from 2022, but by 2024 all new cars sold will have them - the other little known device fitted will be a data logger, which may prove very useful to plod and insurance co. in the event of a RTC or other incident.

I can see the market values of some cars pre 2022 becoming very favourable for the owner
