Hi, My newly aquired Z4 was designed to operate on run flats, it has normal tyres on now but no spare wheel. Will a space saver from another car fit or I could use spray foam sealer, any suggestions?
The idea with runflat tyres is that the extra stiff sidewall supports the vehicle, you don't get that with normal tyres. That's what I meant saying it only works in runflat tyres. You struggle to get enough pressure, quick enough with those small aerosols, to plug the leak and inflate the tyre. Try it.Just to be clear, tyre foam will work on any tyre or just run flats which seem a bit odd since run flats as the name suggests are designed to 'run flat'.
It does we use it in our company vehicles. Its a permanent version of tyre slime. Only issue is tyre shops don't usually repair tyres that have it addedI use some stuff called Puncturesafe, You put it in your tyres before getting a puncture, it just 'heals up' if you get a hole, allegedly up to 6mm.
When SWMBO had the rear tyres changed, there were 2 nails in one, and a screw in the other, so it must work.
Yep bought tubes for the bikes with it already inThey used it on lawnmower tyres etc. at Tanvics and as Niall says once used they won't touch tyres. Good on bike tyres too if you tend to ride where there are Hawthorne hedges.
Tony.
Run flats don’t go flat, the extra strength in the sidewalls keep them up without any pressure in them. Hence you need a warning system to advise on deflation. I bought a repai system off the bay it has a 12v pump with attachments to go connect the bottle of sealant it goes in through the valve . And keep it in the boot of my Z3 .Just to be clear, tyre foam will work on any tyre or just run flats which seem a bit odd since run flats as the name suggests are designed to 'run flat'.
