Hello
Can I ask those that know. how big can you go with spacers on 16 inch wheels, as I have no idea about thesis things.
would there be any down sides, or potentially any problems.
Thanks in advance
Dave

I fitted 20mm ones on rears only and am running 215/55 16 front and rear 225/50 16.
They worked well, I know others have also fitted smaller ones on the front also. There are folks with far more experience and knowledge on here who I'm sure will give their thoughts.

My car had 205/55 16 all round with 15mm spacers at the back and 5mm or less spacers at the front. I changed to the staggered 17inch wheels and kept the spacers on. I think the skinny rear tyres sometimes look silly on the facelift cars, so I would recommend spacers from an aesthetic point of view. With the staggered 17inch wheels there’s probably no need for them.

I had 20mm on the rear and 14mm on the front on my Z3 on 17” wheels, these went onto the Z4 with 18” wheels and I have the same on my E89 Z4 on 19” wheels.

There's plenty of room for spacers on your Z3. Look at the picture, that's a comparison between staggered 17 inch rear wheels (which offer enough room for 20mm spacers) and standard 16 inch wheels with 255/50 tires.
