I recently had a front spring snap, so I bought a pair of standard replacements, plus a pair of Meyle struts and Sachs top mounts etc. I've fitted the new strut to the car and, whilst the tyre doesn't rub, it is too close to the spring perch.
This is the other side
I cleaned up the old strut to find the part number, just to make sure it's correct and I found
and the part I have is
So it's the correct part. The part number stamped on the new strut matches the box. It's on its original wheels with 245/45 R17s.
Has anyone had any similar issues? What did you do?
Edit: Turned out my wheels were on back to front. I'd only taken my front one off today, so god knows how long it's been like that.
