Soft top grab handle

Here I am, out in the rain, in a car park by myself clearing my head. I'm that weirdo parked in the corner people watching.

I look up (apparently for the first time in 4 years) and see a grab handle in the soft top.

I got my roof replaced a few years ago, is this standard in z3s?

My Z3 has some of that but I didn't realize they were supposed to be grab handles. My top is fairly old and I would not even consider touching that for those reasons for fear of ripping something or causing damage. Scared of that!

Mine ripped. not normally replaced with new roof.
