I own a 1999 pre facelift 2.8l

The passenger window won't go down on the button as it is really stiff in the top 20%.

At the moment I have to manually push the window down past the stiff top part to get it to then open on the button

It closes fully on the button fine

I think it has been caused by the window not being opened very often compared to the drivers side

Any ideas to get this window going down on the button without manual intervention?

Thanks Chris

First thing to try is to spray some silicone spray into the rubber channel the drop glass slides in as you work it up and down.

Take you door card off and remove the door membrane carefully, you may need some butyl if it’s gone off(hard) Then check that nothing has come apart and grease up the linkages and spray silicone spray in the window channels and operate the window a few times that should do the trick.
