Six Nations 2017

Penalty - France 10-0 Wales

Not going well for the sheep lovers at the moment.......

Half-time

France 10-9 Wales

Posted at 40 mins
Another Wales attack comes to nothing. France with the turnover and that's the end of that.

  1. France beat Wales 20-18 at Stade de France
That was a weird game and got really weird at the end......

Dr Malcolm Harvey: The ramifications of that suspect French HIA may be quite far reaching... made the end of the game an absolute farce.

Wally: Barnes needs reassessing after this performance lost control and out of his depth.

Simon: HIA for a shoulder injury, constant penalties for French players standing up in the scrum first. a ''self inflicted'' bite...

Total farce at the end, could not help think the video evidence of the bite could not be found as rime was ticking by.

Total amusement'

FT: France 20-18 Wales

Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones on BBC One:

"Amusement that we got to 100 minutes on the clock.

"It was an interesting decision that their tighthead went off after 90 mins. There will have to be someone looking at that. The technical officials will have to review that.

"The penalties were the crutch that got them there in the end.

"But it's irrelevant what happened at the end there.

"Two wins from five matches is not good enough. We felt we deserved more today and felt we did enough in the 80 minutes to win the game."

Tight head went off and walked down the tunnel in his own, so much for head injury!

Really feel for Wales, they deserved the win.

I am not a happy bunny at the moment...:(

  1. Half-time score: Ireland 10-3 England

A lot of our trouble has been the decision of the previous boss at WRU to agree our coach could take a year away , taking a mainly English team on a Lions tour, and leave an Assistant in charge ----- who has never been top coach in any team. Interesting to see Scotland sacking a coach who has done wonders for them, and the difference a good international coach has done for England.
Of coarse the other advantage England have is they don't get Mr Barnes as the ref,we have just a double helping of him.

England World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 live
It will be really interesting to see how England play in this opening salvo.

Whenever they had that ball in that last 30 minutes they did nothing with it.

The kicking was aimless, it was ill-disciplined. It was not necessarily a complex fix, but mentally have they got the capability to apply it under the pressure Ireland are putting on?

England head coach Eddie Jones speaking to ITV:

"It wasn't our day today. Ireland played very well in the conditions.

"We struggled in the line-out and at the breakdown - two key areas.

"Their defence was good and we couldn't get any momentum in our attack. They were off the line so quickly.

"It would have been great to be Grand Slam champions and world record holders but it wasn't our day today. They were better than us.

"Technical issues to look at but our attitudes were good. It was still only 13-9 at the end of the game and we didn't play well."

Oh so many things you could say, Irish workout a way to win - or England choked - or Irish spoilers - or different ref different game - or England could not find a way to beat the tactics - or why pick a back line to score tries when it was never going to be that kind of game.

Any way up I am celebrating England Championship win well done England and.....roll on the grand slam 2018

Disappointing, the only team that have shown any improvement is Scotland, England won the championship but didn't get the Grand Slam they played well for only one game in the entire tournament, Ireland played some terrible Rugby, Wales gave two games away and were trounced by Scotland, a defeat by France in the last play even though it lasted 30 minutes Not sure what is going on with Wales, they had all the chances to score but just could not get across the line. Did North get bit! Did France use the head injury rule to their advantage! Who knows it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Congratulations England. But glad Ireland beat you;)
