Ref the Silverstone Classic 2014. As people may know I have said I cannot do what I did for 2013 (it cost me too much personally) and as such David Frith BMW Chairman and I are talking this week about what role I will play, he has others working on the project for the last month or so and I have been forwarding the communications I have received to him. I will update after the teleconference meeting with what I then know. THE BMW Car Club also have a commercial firm working on Accommodation but I Suspect that a lot of people will want to stay at the same hotel and as Zroadster.org I am planning to arrange a deal with the same hotel as I think they did us proud for 2013. I will make a point of trying to get the hotel deal sorted this week as well if I can.
I do plan to be active for Zroadster.org ref the 2014 Silverstone Classic. I do not plan to be in communication to any other forums my email count for 2013 was over 3900 emails and I am not prepared to do that again in my opinion it is unfair to ask. so whilst all Zed's will be welcome at the hotel and with whatever I try and do for Zroadster.org I will only be posting information here on Zroadster.org.
At some point I will also publish an edited version of the lesson learnt document that I authored so that people can be aware of what came out of the wash up.

She doesn't do car things at all, so no enjoyment for her or me. And as said working as well all weekend.
I have been to Goose, with the chairman of the BMW Car Club Gb and we had a good meeting with them, and am trying to get together an announcement! I am again pulling things together for BMW Car Club and as soon as I can I will post what is happening. initial hotel quote is not good so I have to get that improved as well!

Had a nice catch up with Duncan on the phone earlier today. The club are hoping to make an announcement really soon about this. Should be a big event again this year, with greater inclusion of other BMW models as well.

Guy's and Gal's! Sorry to be slow in getting things up and as members of the BMW car Club will be aware we have booking codes etc.
I have agreed a price with the same hotel that we used last year and am awaiting the link for us to book but the price is £70 per room until the end of March from April the price will go up to £79 per room. This does of course include breakfast! I will not be organising a buffet after the 2013 result but remind you all that you can oder in from the takeaways (and I have done that at other HIE establishments.
The booking codes that are relevant to members of this forum are below but in the main I suspect that people will book in line with their model of Zed. The full list of booking codes are available and will be explained in detail but they are in the main broken into the BMW Car Club Register Sections. I have included the Alpina Section as I know some Zed Alpina's may choose to display with the Alpina's rather than a Z4 group and some people are members of the Car Club's Concours register and decide to display with them The Z3M Coupes can of course choose to display in the Z3M Coupe, or M-Power register groups, but personally I think it would be better under the Z3m Coupe booking code. I will post all the booking codes and details about the plans on a sperate thread under BMW car Club in the next few days when I have written it:

Absolutely fine, but let's not lose this thread to yet more hand wringing about the past.

Badman just to be clear there is no general BMW area this year. As well as the registers there are codes for each of the series that BMW produce. Everyone will be making a choice using one of the booking codes that have been allocated and that code will be co-ordinated by someone so that it spreads the workload. in all there are over 20 booking codes so that we have a better feel for the layout requirements than last year.
Also there will not be an official Cruise in or dedicated entrance as they caused far too many problems in 2013.
I would also make the point here that the BMW Car Club GB Display is NOT of classic cars it is ALL BMW cars that want to display with us right up to and including the latest models so there is even a booking code for the I-Series. (It is also important to say that you do not have to be a member of the BMW Car Club GB to come and join us.)
As an example…...If whoever is arranging the Z3 area (and it will not be me due to what I am already doing) feels they can co-ordinate for each and every forum to be grouped together that will be facilitated (providing the co-ordinator is happy)…….BUT and it is a big BUT it will be up to whoever is co-ordinating the Z3 area or the Z3Mcoupe area or one of the Z4 area's. Each booking code is under a separate co-ordinator many of which we have not yet got organised and so we are looking for volunteers.
when I have the full detailed document on plans written I will upload the file so that people can have a look at all the plans.

Interested. Not a club member but it all sounds like fun.
You do not have to be a member that is the entire point. If it was members only it would not be me that was organising the event for them. I am a member and if you like what you see and think it worth it you can join which then means that when we/BMW Car Club are talking to BMW and dealerships etc we can present a good case for sponsorship and that sort of thing and getting good numbers together for big events but at the end of the day we are all just a group of people that want to get together at events and enjoy our cars! even the small events get the knock on benefits from the big ones.
The historic racing at Silverstone is great, my particular interest is getting up close and personal to the cars in the pits!
