Hi, just had the mot done it passed 🥳. I have an advisory that there is light corrosion on the sills by the jacking points. Has anyone got a contact for me to get this work done. I live in the Essex area. Thanks

:welcome: to the Forum from West Cumbria. With regards to the sills, the outer sills are bolt on items, circa £300 for the pair from a main dealers (less paint). If the outer sills are corroded it's likely that the main structural sills have a degree of corrosion though these are substantial items. Worth having the outers removed (and replaced if rotten) and seeing to the main sills. Any decent garage could do it but it's easy to do yourself if you can.

Thanks for that advice. I’m ok at cleaning the car I have a stack of autoglym products. Looks like you could also be a fan with your name. I would be getting something like this done by a pro .

No probs. Very little in the way of parts, less the sills, mainly labour and straight forward job for a pro. Yup, I've been partial to Autoglym (other products are available) for 35 years

Someone (I think it was Lee at Zedshed) told me that testers have a habit of failing them on the jacking point but what the tester doesn't realise is that the bit you can see is a thin piece of metal that rots, but behind it is a substantial girder which is never going to rot away - so though the tester thinks it's a structural defect, in fact all he is looking at is the surface and really it shouldn't be a fail.
