Hi folks, my local body shop has given me a quote of £450 to treat the small bits of rust appearing on my side skirts, just in front of the back wheels, it a bit on each side smaller than my little finger and only on the ends of the skirts, I'll get a couple of pictures in a bit.
What other ipoptio are there? I'm happy to get the spanners out myself

I would aim to get two new BMW sills painted and fitted for around that. Many of the members have done this work themselves, i'm sure they will be along shortly.

Good idea to remove them.

The debris builds up behind them which holds the moisture.

New sills are available for about £100 each so that's the way to go if you're looking at long term ownership.

I'm guessing at £450 they'll just be rubbing them down in situ and repainting.

I'm all ears about treating rust, but in my experience it'll come back.

Welcome to the forum, not a silly question at all.

It may depend on if they are going to remove the side skirts before painting. It will take at least an hour to remove each side then paint the then put them back.
It would be much cheaper for you to remove them and ask if they can paint them.
