I recently purchased a Z3 1.9 (2001). I already owned a vehicle, I rang my insurance company (Morethan) and asked for a quote. They said they could insure the Z3 as a second vehicle for £730. I never really thought about the cost and went ahead with the insurance. A couple of days later I gave a little more thought to the £730, I decided to get rid of my previous car. I rang Morethan today to cancel the insurance on my previous car, I then asked them to review my Z3 insurance because I now only had one car. They came back and said they could reduce it to £707, I told them to cancel the insurance. I only had the policy for a few days so I was able to cancel without any charges because it was within the 14 days cooling off period. I then went on "compare the market" and insured the Z3 for £267 (AA). I was an idiot for not checking in the first place, I will certainly shop around next time.

I always shop around and never autorenew for anything , when I first had a zed I was insurer with Aviva who as it was a second car mirrored my NCD on the zed giving me full NCD , now with Saga cost £136
