Hi All,
Been looking at getting a E89, preferably an 6 cylinder and have seen an 09 plate, 106k miles with (allegedly) FSH. Looking at its MOT history it seems the shocks mostly front seem to be in the advisories - OSF at 49k , NSF at 59k both with serious leaks. NSR at 90k with serious leak, NSF again at 90k with slight misting, The last NSF is on the last MOT, last January.
My query is:
1. Is this normal wear for the mileage?
2. How much are the shocks to replace? I’ve looked on AUTODOC and Euro Car Parts and they start around £60 and go up and up.
Also, there’s associated tyre wear together with the shocks on the MOT’s which I assume is normal with them not operating at their best.
Regards,
Michael.

Sounds about right for replacements at the mileages you quote, they dont last for ever, price point for replacements obviously dependant on the state of your wallet and the Brand you choose. Good reccomendation from @Nodzed.

Bilstein are good and so are Boge/Sachs.

Budget stuff is a mixed bag. Monroe aren't bad, Anschler (ECP) fair but CD (Ebay cheapies) and KYB are complete garbage. I'm not a fan of TRW despite their OE status - I've seen them absolutely shagged after a year.

I would personally buy Boge Sachs, proper OE quality and good for 100k.
