I just wanted to let everyone know that we have a scheduled upgrade on this server this tonight so it will be offline for up to an hour.

We're going to carry out the maintenance between 1 and 2 am GMT which includes extending the main drive of the server. This means it has to run through a check before booting again and can take some time. RAM and CPU we can add without rebooting the server but we have to go through this process to extend the disks.

I just wanted to let you know given the .net being down and didn't want you to think, oh no not this one as well!!! :)

Also as an additional proactive move, we have sent you all an email message with the same information. Hopefully it won't get filtered in to your spam folder!

One of the more frustrating things with any service is not being kept informed, so we will try and keep you all up to date where possible.

Any planned upgrades or work will be informed of in advance.

Let myself or James (board) know if you have any questions.

Nice for a change to be kept informed before something is done, good work everyone, quite impressed how quick and well this site got set up.

A big thanks from me too - well done, we all appreciate the work you are doing to keep us all together.

Cracking photo Billz and thanks for putting me intouch with this new site.

ps, got your email fine thanks.

to finish off the work from last night we will need to do one more update tonight which will take place at about 11pm and will last about 5 - 15 minutes so the site will be offline during that period.

Just giving this a bump to remind people of the brief planned outage!

Sorry it took a bit longer than planned but all done now.

It took a little longer than we thought as the disk wanted to run a check again (I wont get too technical unless you want me to :) ) which takes a bit of time but that's all for the server upgrades for now that will affect access to the site.

Cheers,
James
