I agree Ray, I found that news item a bit strange to say the least and :-
Also sold was a pair of racing overalls, which went for the lower price of £35,000…

Its a shame that this driver hardly ever gets a mention, happened the same weekend but got overshadowed by Senna's accident.


Just realized that this all happened 18 years ago and I remember watching it live.... :-o
 
It's not THE helmet. That one will never be sold (I hope) and may even have been destroyed.

Most interesting choice of words to me was

"the helmet... ...went under the hammer"
