2002 2.2i Sport in Grey.

Recently refurbished alloys in anthracite, 4 new tyres.

Red / black sport interior in lovely condition.

Super good with good rear screen.

2 previous owners.

Comprehensive dealer service history, original doc pack, books, toolkit, first aid kit etc.

Runs really well, drives great. Engine pulls as it should without issue and it doesn’t drip or use oil, no nasty stuff from exhaust.

Here’s why I ask the sell or break question...

Mileage racked up by first owner on her daily motorway commute. Car now at 170k but like I say, runs like a car with half that.

I’d let it go for 2k

If its been well maintained and serviced. The mileage is nothing as you have another 100K at least in that baby. Make sure the water pump and thermostat has been changed and you are good to go. Nothing else to say. Keep it and enjoy it.

Got two for sale. They have to go to fund another car.

Just in two minds whether to sell the grey one, or try my luck breaking it for parts sale - hence the question.

Prefer just to sell it to be honest.

If it's got to go I'd probably try to sell complete first because once its gone its gone
Breaking you could end up with lots of bits left

@Mint car has similar mileage as do others no doubt. Well worth £2,000

I think you will struggle at £2k with that mileage, a guy near me had a similr car to yours, 2.2 with 97k and in the end he took £1700 for it, as much as I hate to say it, it is probably worth more to if you break it

Seems to be a split decision, however most people are saying 2k for a 2.2i sport on an 02 plate is a bargain. Especially given its comprehensive service history.

You might get lucky and find someone that will know these engines can take the mileage, however the rest of the car can't and even with the history it will more then likely need another £2k spending on it, I paid £700 for a 2.8 with 130k on it, I did so knowing it would need a full restoration and spent £4k on parts alone

Rare colour and end of line Z3 with a high spec, well worth spending the money on.

You won't know the extent of the mileage till you have a peak underneath.

But if you did decide to break it you could make over 2k in parts very quickly.

Underneath isn’t bad at all. Had the sills off and arch covers out last year, no serious rot at all. Suspension bushes and roll bar bushes all done at the same time.

The owner that racked up the mileage said it was a daily motorway commute.

I’ve decided just to sell rather than break.

Thanks to all who have replied privately on this matter. The information provided has been very useful and it’s good to know that my pricing on this car is actually very fair, in fact from a lot of the messages I’ve received, I’m actually giving it away at 2k.

You can always rely on this forum for feedback...

Top guys and girls.

Cheers

That's a lovely looking car. If I had not got mine I would give you £2k on the pictures alone. It would seem a shame to break it.

Rare and well liked colour (for a Z3) looks a cracking car, sell it I say too nice to break.
