Secondary cat delete

I want to replace the secondary cats on my 2001 Z3 3.0 with an X pipe - as far as I can see there are no sensors after these so I'm hoping I won't get any issues with warning lights etc. Anybody any experience of doing this? Anything I need to be aware of?
On some of the other forums there's mention of power gains and contradictory comments about 'sound' improvements - again any experience in this area?

Hi Robert, did you do a secondary cat delete and did you have any issues at MOT?

I've had my exhaust system stolen if I need to replace the secondary cats then a full system costs nearly as much as the car is worth...

In the US there are limits to the cost of these repairs.
