Secondary air pump

The secondary air pump is gradually getting noisier on start up.

I know it can be removed and I am hoping a local friendly team will do that for me.

If in the meantime it fails, what can I expect?

It will.stop working. No drama, it is easy to remove and if you need a blanking plate for removing the valve on the head I can send you one.
These are not needed in Europe only in the USA (mainly California).

Not sure where to start and what stays and what goes. The round silver part has a lead/ pipe running back along the side of the engine.

Everything goes and it is easy.

Unplug the wires to the pump
Blank the large connection on the forward part of the head. Blanking plates can be made or purchased from the dealer on on the bay.
Blank the vacuum line that runs around the back of the head to the manifold.

When I removed mine there were not lights or warnings and it was just that simple.

A plate and advice would be nice. It is noisy and when it finishes doing its thing it gurgles like water down the sink

That’s the thing you need @mktommo but, at that price I can send you 2! £10.90 for P&P for an item you can put in an envelope? Trying to con people into paying that by stating it will set a fault code is completely wrong. IT WIIL NOT.

I watched a video of pump being being removed. The first thing they said was make sure plate has a gasket, which that one didn’t

If you are careful removing the pump you could use the original gasket, or buy some gasket paper and cut one, it's very satisfying. A decent motor factor should have some.or at worst some silicon gasket seal stuff.
