Looking for a low mileage, manual 3.0 sport feels like I'm looking for rocking horse pop at times, have been offered one but the service history has a 9 year gap and he wants dealer money for it.
Not been serviced at all in 9yrs or just home serviced / not used?

Morning, just no records but was sold after that by stratstone as a AUC, I spoke to them and they could not confirm whether it would of had service history or not but they did service it.

Surprised they would do that as an AUC should have history.Perhaps they located the service history invoices via the BMW dealer network but the books not stamped.

Well I did some more research and rang bmw customer service, the only records they have are from 02 and 03, Which i rang and they have changed names and no longer have records that far back and the sale by stratstone as auc was not recorded on the bmw system.
So the car has 2 stamps in a book which is not a service book but like a hand over book and the next history invoice is for a service in 2011 and then 2012 sold as auc and then a paper trail until now but no service book at all. It seems the car was owned by one person in the missing history.
Is it worth a punt ?

If it looks right and your happy with the asking price go for it, if the history gap is a problem for you stay away, it will niggle you if you buy.

Yes l did see that one. Nice car but no history before his ownership.
Good ones do come up from time to time. Mine was up for sale recently and it's near concours condition.
However it seems l was a little optimistic asking £8,000 for it.
