Can't get rear inboard 17mm bolt out. Having trouble. any ideas?

I got 3 of the 4 bolts out. the back one is recessed and the socket can't grab it.
more info there Frankie... you cant reach it? dont have tools?
try open end spanner?
The socket can't grab enough of the top. Spanner gets even less
I don't want to round off the edges
try move the seat to loosen the bolt and you should be able to grab two sides of the bolt with and open end and just work it out gradually

but if you get the bolt loose by moving the chair it should work ;-)

I got the 4 bolts, 2 nuts, 2 bolts off the driver's seat, Tried to disconnect the wire harness. The big one came apart but the small one didn't. I couldn't see how it worked so I started to take off the pass. seat to see if I could get a better look at it and/or get it off. Can't get that far

Tried that. but that seems to be the best bet. I'll use a bar or large screw driver as a wedge.to move it. might give enough room to allow the socked to get a better grip.yes i understand that

Yeah, I know, but I only have the rest of today and tomorrow to work on the new top. I can't even get to the top yet.agghhhhh
i wonder if the guys who had the seat bush replacement day had a tried and tested method?

Couldn't quite move the seat over. Could probably do it if I knew the right way. I'll think of something or some one will have a good idea. Also, I need to know how the small connector comes off. By the way, have a 96 z3.
Does any one know of a way to move the seat track over. I have to center a rear track bolt that's not centered in its recess. If you've done seats before, you'll know what I'm talking about. Frankie
Try tapping it gently with a hammer or beer bottle. Maybe that will move it enough to centre the head. Checked my service book but no description on connectors. Relax and enjoy the experience bud!! JIM
