Z3 Roadster 2.0 Manual post-facelift
I have a Dec’99 built Z3 roadster with standard seats and looking to upgrade to sport seats. The ones I’m looking at come from a write-off car, so one of the seatbelt tensioners has been detonated. Also, they’re heated and have the single yellow connector, while my current standard seats have no heating and multiple connectors.

A couple of questions:
1. Given the seatbelt tensioner, and different connectors, is it easier to keep my existing rails/mounting frame and just switch the seat body?

2. If I keep my existing rails/mounting frame, I assume I’ll need to rewire the new passenger seat airbag weight sensor to my existing connectors? I don’t want the dreaded airbag light…

3. The sport seats are beige and I’ll be recolouring them blue/black to match my interior. However they have a large beige plastic panel at the back - what’s the best way to recolour the plastic to black?

4. Any other tips/tricks a newbie should be aware of?

The seat belt tensioner should be just a case of unbolt and swap to yours

I put z3m seats into my Dakar seat plugs the same but pre tensioner different do just swapped them .
My 99 model came with heated seats .
Yours should be a face-lift model ( some pictures would be good of what you have on car and on other seats) the seats may be pre face-lift someone else will no doubt post up but I think you can buy a conversion loom to make fit if different.
As for the colour change
Should be able to kit you out with all the stuff you need for the colour change they have some good how to videos in their website

The rear plastic panel I am not so sure about .
On the tip side don't turn on the ignition with the seats unplugged on you will put the air bag light in and will need a code reader to put the light off.

You will also need heated seat switches for a face-lift model ( all wiring should be there for them ) can help out with thr switches as i am about to sell a set.

There is a wiring harness to convert a pre-facelift multi connector seat wiring to a facelift single yellow connector. 61106916218 is the part number
