The airbag light has come on a couple of times and the specialist has managed to fiddle around under the seat.
He suggested removing the seat if it did it again.
A good friend reset the latest light and fault shows seat belt tensioner.
If seat removed what are we looking for and what needs to be done?
Thanks

Usually moving the seat back and forth ends up with the runners running over one of the wires and shorting out the circuit. Remove the seat and check the wiring - you will easily spot a damaged wire. Repair it and then reset.

Then when putting the seat back make sure to route and cable tie the wiring out of the way of the runners.

The belt tensioner is in the firing line for any drink spills down the side of the seat.

If you remove the seat, have a can of contact cleaner on hand. Remove the little yellow plug off the tensioner (usually held in place by a zip tie) and clean both the connector and plug. Do the same to the other end of the lead under the seat at the main seat connections.

Do not be temped to measure the resistance of the tensioner with your multimeter. Some cheap multimeters use the 9V battery voltage to drive the resistance readings. 9V is enough to set off a pyrotechnic. You'll get one hang of a fright and have to change your pants if it goes off.

There have been a number of cases where the connector cleaning has not worked, but a whole new lead has.
