I'm changing the seat base foam and would like to increase the full recline angle without altering the seat mounts. Has anyone relocated the spring cartridges to make this happen?

I don't think I've seen anyone attempt this before. From recollection after breaking a couple of seats, I thought that it was the joint of the upper and lower frames which stopped it going back any further. The springs just aid the process forwards. I could be wrong though.
There's not a lot of room behind the seats to recline much further either.
