Afternoon chaps....so I'm going to ask for some help on this one.
Driver's side horizontal motor stopped working the night before Silverstone.
So i did the adjustment with a cordless drill as you do and thought i'll sort that when i get back.
I removed the seat yesterday and did some tests.
I have 2 spare motors so i attached one to the loom and nothing..so tried the other one and the same.
I tried them with a direct 12v and both spun up.
i tried the original one, and it's the same, it works perfectly.
so i stripped the switch out and tested the voltage when the switch is engaged.
As i thought, i get 12v when its forward and -12 when engaged the other way.
It feels as though i get a slight movement when I engage the switch.
So i thought maybe a bad connection on the motor connection block ...so i ran new wire to the motor...and still no joy.
I've ordered a used loom with the switch attached from eBay and I'm going to try that, but cant see it being the switch if I'm getting the 12v at the motor connection.

So as you can see i have a bit of a head scratcher going on....as anyone come across this or any ideas?
the only other thing i can think of is that the switch isn't allowing enough current though?

Does the motor body need to be connected to chassis ground through the mounting frame which via the seat bolts would complete the circuit to the -ve battery terminal , you will still measure a DC voltage at the terminals.
