Need some help please -

I know this has been covered a multitude of times, but I cannot for the life of me find the solution....

I have a pre face lift car and a facelift donor car . I wish to put the seats from the f/l donor into pre f/l z.

I am aware of the different plugs - big yellow on f/l seat and 3 plugs (white, black and pink ) plus bcm in pre f/l

I know that there is an adapter cable available from Bmw ( part no 61106916218) which will provide a solution at around £60 per seat.

I have the yellow plugs (out of the donor car floor) but have Parkinson’s , so don’t have time to play around with the multimeter . I am happy to solder the connections as I don’t have £120 to donate to Bmw at this time

TO CUT TO THE CHASE.....

DOES ANYONE HAVE A BMW ADAPTOR CABLE (part 61106916218) TO HAND AND IS HAPPY TO EITHER TAKE PICS OR DRAW ME A SIMPLE DIAGRAM OF EACH OF THE “OLD” PLUGS AND WIRE COLOURS /POSITIONS ?

I would happily have travelled to anyone who has an adapter cable and mapped the connections myself were it not for lockdown

I am assuming that bmw have just taken the yellow plugs in their adapter off the loom pretty much as I have and therefore wiring colours will be the same ?

In return , once I solve this I will post a full schematic for future reference

I’m sorry but a bit stressed at present thanks for any help -much appreciated

thanks

Dave

Low rider - thanks for your reply - I have the seats out of both cars so have checked all plugs and am aware of the adapter.

as I have the plugs from the donor car, (see pic 1 below - this one is drivers side)

all I am asking is for some kind person with easy access to a bmw adaptor to either :
EITHER
take pics of each plug at the car end
OR
DRAW a simple picture showing each of the 5 plugs at the car end of the adapter cable depicting what colour wire goes to which pin

I’m aware that the drivers and passenger yellow plugs carry different colour wires but as long as I get one done I can work out the other.

See pic 2 below

ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED

@lr_defender I have a couple of those cables somewhere in my garage. I took the sports seats out a while ago and haven't put them back yet. I'll try and find them later if I can.
One problem though is that I am colour blind so I'll have to make do with photos

Just so it makes things simpler - out of the 5 car end connectors there on the picture you will have to just wire the big white connector if you don't have the heated seats and just one of the other smaller ones for the belt pre-tensioner on the side of the seat. If you have heated seats you will also have to wire the other big black connector. If you have passenger side airbag then add another of the small ones but just for the passenger side seat occupancy sensor. If you happened to have a japanese / USA import I think that's what he 5th connector is for as they had also seat-belt clasp sensors to check if you had fastened your seatbelt.

Hi mario
my V registered straight six 2.0 roadster was owned from new by a little old lady and her dog. She sold it age 82 ! The car has only done 39000 fully documented miles which is good, however the bad things are that she smoked with the roof down hence fag burns in the carpets and one small one in the drivers cloth seat , allowed a hairy dog in the car and needed to go to specsavers as she managed to dent all four corners of the front and rear bumpers, the passenger door and both rear wings ! The car had been garaged all its life, so it’s hood and other panels were in good condition. I saw it advertised for what I cobdidered

Sorry don’t know what happened there but ...

Saw it advertised for what I considered to be far too much money so bided my time . I knew it was low spec and when I saw it the damage it was way beyond what had been described .

but driving it was amazing ! I needed an auto as I have Parkinsons / gear box changes were smooth and fluid, car felt taut and responsive - even better than my previous z3 2.0 m sport.

anyway, I then came by a later v z3 which had a blown engine which I was to do up for my daughter however parkinsons stopped that...
This car has great panels red leather seats , console etc etc
So plan is to eventually fit heated bc seats if indeed the red leathers don’t already have them..
So am saving that for a wintry job. As will need to source switches etc
