Bit the bullet and ordered one with two rams and a cheaper carriage rate direct with the seller rather than go through ebay, the carriage price was far lower than shown on the ebay listing and cheaper than hiring a van to collect in person.
Will post some pictures with the Z on it when its all fixed up.

Scissor Lift installed, lifts the Z a treat, really well built bit of kit, needed some scaffold boards to raise the car enough to clear the lift. Arms line up to the four jacking points and up she went, rock steady.

I see no reason why the car couldn't be put on the other way around, however all the advert pictures show it with engine at the front over the static end of the scissor lift which is quite beefy. Yes it is a Deauvill 650 on the side 1998 with just 10k miles on it.
Had to have the lift on a slant in my garage as the driveway in is at an angle. Shouldn't be a problem to work all around the car, may have to move the bike out to give better access that side.

Looks great and has a safety lock which is a must in case of hydraulic failure. One slight modification would be to screw some steel plates to the floor under the roller wheels so that they can roll easier rather than digging into the carpets you have on the floor.

Thought of adding some metal plates at some stage, however it rolls over the carpet quite easily which came as a surprise, I was expecting it to ruffle it up.

Looks good, colb, more expensive than the Quickjack, but more stable I suspect, and not too bad on underbody accessibility. Like you I have headroom limitations in my garage, and like you I find the floor is farther down than it was once and harder to get up from as well!

@colb
Hi, I have a question about the lift.
Is there any horizontal movement when the car is raised?

ie, if the front of the car was about a foot from the back wall, does it get closer as its raised

Hi Mazza, No horizontal movement, it lifts the vehicle straight up and down due to the artculation of the scissors. The supplier I got mone from has a video on their site showing vehcles being lifted.

For the Z I have placed two 9 inch scaffold boards either side of the lift to drive onto to clear the lift. Tried it with one board either side but found single boards too narrow, far better with a pair of boards laid each side to take the track and tyres of the Z.
Had to uprate my garage electric circuit from 20amp breaker to a 32Amp breaker. as luck would have it I had a spare 32Amp breaker in my breaker box. 20Amps was tripping out when energising the lift pump. They do advise running it on a 32Amp circuit in the instructions.

That is completely joyous :) Now I want to do it. What sort of bolts do you use to secure the sleepers together?
I'm pretty sure it was these https://www.screwfix.com/p/timbascrew-wafer-timber-screws-black-6-7-x-200mm-50-pack/8628j

I used stainless threaded bar with stainless nuts and washers on the top deck of the first platform you drive on.

I got the motorbike ramps for free from my dad. It's two of these https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-mar200b-1830-x-254mm-motorcycle-ramp/

You need to put some small blocks under the ramps because they are only rated at 200kg each (evenly distributed) and you put at least a 250kg point load on them when you drive up.

Love your solution. And I’m going to look at using the sleeper assemblies as garden benches when not being used a ramp. We’re building a patio at the moment.

I’m off to Wickes to price up a few sleepers. I’m hoping their half price decking offer extends to the sleepers.

Made a slight alteration to the height of the scaffold planks either side of my scissor lift, the single thickness was ok for my standard 1.9 to clear the lift when driving over it but Daves 2.2 with lowered springs was a bit tight. I added lengths of planks under the two boards either side to rails the runways another plank thickness which improved the clearance between the car and the lift. It also made it easier to pull the adjustable arms out to position them under the jacking points. Chamfered the run up ends as well to improve the run up onto the planks. All works very well now.
