I got a typical PM saying someone has a part I need and a gmail address to send to.

I would hope that anyone would see these people as scammers straight away by now, but you never know.
It's a sad fact that in 2025 there are people actively fishing on forums to try to extricate money from innocent people. Who said that technology would be a good thing? Obviously whoever said that was very trusting and naive.

Yes I agree, back when the internet was in its infancy, It showed promise. but now not so much, and AI, well thats another way to learn from our own mistakes. That being said, Ill leave this thread here in case anyone else was approached... Cheers and merry xmas.
